We’re incredibly excited to reveal that LIFElabs.io has been announced as an Official Sponsor for renowned golfing tournament, the Sky Sports British Masters. This sponsorship deal is the first of its kind with a digital currency sponsoring the British Masters, who have a long tradition of partnering with select brands.
The historic event will take place at Walton Heath Golf Club from October 11-14, with the 2013 U.S. Open Champion Justin Rose playing host at the Surrey venue. He will head up a strong field, which also includes the reigning Race to Dubai Champion Tommy Fleetwood.
Here at LIFE we are dedicated to giving back, which is why one third of our digital currency (LIFEtokens) are ring-fenced to go towards global philanthropic causes. As part of our sponsorship of the event, we will be running a hole-in-one competition on the par 3, 9th hole. The first player to hole an ace on the 222-yard hole will win a prize of £10k, converted to GBP from LIFEtoken. This prize money will then be equally matched with a donation from us to both Cancer Research UK Kids & Teens and The European Tour Foundation.
The European Tour has been a leader in the field of golf regarding innovation and experimentation over the past two years, aiming to make the sport more accessible. Similarly, here at LIFE we aim to break down the barriers surrounding digital currency in our mission to give everyone the opportunity to be part of the cryptocurrency revolution. We have made our currency easily accessible, while simultaneously giving people the chance to give something back to good causes around the world, simply through the way in which they choose to pay.
Max Hamilton, Head of Commercial Partnerships at the European Tour, said: “This is an exciting time for the Sky Sports British Masters and we’re delighted to welcome LIFElabs as an Official Sponsor for the event.
“Following on so soon after The Ryder Cup, this year’s British Masters promises to be a fantastic occasion, with a popular and worthy host in Justin Rose. LIFElabs is a progressive business and a great fit for the Sky Sports British Masters.”
Luke Chittock, CEO of LIFElabs, commented: “LIFElabs’ mission is to invest in the future of humanity and we know that sport brings people together in a completely unparalleled way.”
“We partnered with the European Tour because it is an innovative brand within the golfing world, with one eye firmly fixed on the future. As such, both LIFElabs and the British Masters are looking to make a real difference to people’s lives, both here in the UK and across the rest of the world.”
